One day, during my first week in Aix-en-Provence, I decided to take a journey into to town and get lost. You know, just walk around with no real intentions. It was a really nice day; weather was beautiful and the locals were pleasant. I happened to stand out most of the time that I was there. I am a tall woman (5'10") and I have long locs and in this small town of Aix, not to many people fit that bill. While I was walking I heard someone yell from behind "yo, Rasta!" Instantaneously, I knew he was talking to me. I turned around and there was this guy who proceeded to talk to me in a version of french with a heavy Islander accent. After I told him that I not so good at french, he then started to talk to me in choppy English. We agreed to help each other with our struggles in each others language and we became instant pals. What better way to start this journey abroad =)
